DK Shivakumar: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has stated that the Mekedatu dam project would allow for the storage of 66 TMC of water and the generation of 400 MW of electricity. He expressed confidence that permission to construct the dam would be granted soon, adding that 2,500 acres of alternative forest land have already been identified for the project
