The Tamil Nadu government has filed an urgent plea in the Supreme Court, stating that 4 lakh hectares of agricultural land in the state have been affected due to the Karnataka government's failure to release Cauvery water. A bench led by the Chief Justice has indicated that it will consider the plea.
