EU agrees new security mission in Lebanon as UN peacekeepers prepare to leave
EU foreign ministers approved a civilian-military mission to train Lebanon’s armed forces. It will not replace UNIFIL, whose mandate ends in December. Personnel numbers and participating countries are yet to be confirmed.
