The Madras High Court has issued an interim stay on the tender floated for the procurement of 20 million (200 lakh) packets of palm oil, intended for sale through ration shops during the Deepavali festival. Citing this court order, the distribution of palm oil has been halted at ration shops in several districts, including Chengalpattu.
